One Time At Bandcamp…
Feeling downright slow and dumb as I read Andy’s interview with Ethan Diamond.
Ethan is one of the guys behind Oddpost (the best webmail client I’ve ever used), which eventually became Yahoo! Mail. His latest venture, Bandcamp—music publishing platform for artists—is just brilliant.
Starting with the artists is just such a refreshing way to go… and a great way to steer clear of all the dysfunction on the label/royalty side of things.
Simplicity at its finest. Four screenshots say it all. And the shareable mp3 player/visualizer? Lovely.
It might be cool to see some Creative Commons tools and a tour calendar/ticket sales engine in there eventually, as well. Either way, it’s great.
